Step 4.
Copyright
If your photograph was taken by you or a family member,
there should not be any problem with ownership of the copyright
as long as they give you their permission.
If the photo was taken by a professional photographer,
they must give me written permission to use their photo as a reference.
A photographer owns the copyright even thought you paid for photos
taken by him or her.
Step 5.
Travel for Photos to be Taken of Subject
If you prefer me to work from my own original photos, I can accommodate that request.
Within 60 miles of College Station, Texas, there is no charge for travel.
However, should the distance to your office or residence from College Station
be more than 60 miles, my travel expenses must be paid.
Dependent on distance, hotel accommodations, meals, and mileage must be paid.
Step 6.
Agreeing on Face Placement and Colors
Once we agree on the photo to be used, I will give you a suggestions on
how the face should be placed in the 5x7, make some lighting corrections, and will
email the image to you for your approval.
Step 7.
Painting of the Portrait
Once you have approved, I will begin the process of working the Portrait.
Getting everything just right takes time. It is important to create an excellent
likeness and a beautiful painting. I anticipate completion in 2 to 4 months. The number of commissions I receive will vary. I will notify you when I begin the process
and provide an update as appropriate. Once I feel the portrait is complete, I will email you
the image for your approval in the event a modification is needed.
